Spell Description
You scry on a particular creature you choose that is on the same plane of existence as you. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. This save is made with advantage, disadvantage or normally depending on how well you know the target and the sort of physical connection you have to it (choose one of the below that apply - e.g. if you possess a lock of hair from the target, the target has disadvantage on the saving throw even if you only have second hand knowledge of the target):
The target makes the save with disadvantage. if you possess a body part, lock of hair, bit of nail, or the like from the target; if you are related to the target or familiar with the target (you know it as very well).
The target makes the save as normal. If you possess something that looks like the target (such as a picture) or something that has belonged to the target (e.g. garment); if you have firsthand knowledge about the target (you have met the target or seen them on occasions).
The target makes the save with advantage. If you have only secondhand knowledge of the target (you have heard their name or been given a description of the target).
If a target knows you're casting this spell, it can fail the saving throw willingly if it wants to be observed. On a successful save, the target isn't affected, and you can't use this spell against it again for 24 hours. On a failed save, the spell creates an invisible sensor within 10 feet of the target. You can see and hear through the sensor as if you were there. The sensor moves with the target, remaining within 10 feet of it for the duration. A creature that can see invisible objects sees the sensor as a luminous orb about the size of your fist.
Instead of targeting a creature, you can choose a location you have seen before as the target of this spell. When you do, the sensor appears at that location and doesn't move.
